the time to plan is here

so april is fast approaching and i have to figure out what i'm actually going to do for my trip abroad for lisa's wedding. browsed a few possible itineraries today (and found some great flight options) but can't committ yet...

why?

because at this point i'm going solo. turns out that mid-april is not a good travel month for most of my friends. i have no problems going by myself, and with the wedding, it might be a good option. but, if there is anyone that would like to go, please speak up. now is the time.

and if you do, i promise you this...

2010 - where it all begins

so after a week in sunny california (seriously...i love 68 degree weather in december), playing with my nephews, catching up with my sisters, eating a lot of food and learning how to shoot several guns (apparently i'd make a good mafia member because i like the .22...and have a pretty good aim), it was back in dc to bring in the new year. i was so tired that i almost didn't want to do anything to celebrate, but knew i would be said in the aftermath, so the whirlwind night began.

somewhere in the middle of the movies, parties and dancing, i realized that i have a really great feeling about the upcoming year. in the words of neil patrick harris (i've been watching "how i met your mother" recently), it's going to be legen...wait for it!....dary!

2010...i can't wait to see what you have in store.

a very very very white xmas

good thing my mom came out to visit me last weekend!

i got back from new york last night to discover that dc was covered in snow. since that time we've had about 17 inches and it is still coming down strong.

sadly my roomie's flight home got canceled today (as did all flights out of dc) so we've done our best to start her vacation anyways. nothing like making snow angels in newly fallen snow, coming back for some hot chocolate and watching white christmas!

the whole city has completley shut down, everything is closed (even the metro!), and we're all wondering what is going to happen tomorrow!

what else has been going on?

well, other then falling down the stairs and turning into somewhat of a cripple, it's been a busy few weeks....

i've seriously been enjoying the fall leaves (i love the piles!)

melanie got married! (and i took my first trip to texas)

and i turned another year older (and wiser too)

stairs - 1, j9 - 0

tuesday morning i got up as normal. i turned the corner to go down the stairs. somehow the combination of my socked foot and the wooden stairs went bad and i went down...down...down...

since then i've spent most of my time on the couch, drugged up with painkillers and switching back and forth between ice packs and a heating pad. what a fantastic holiday weekend.

a few rants

things that are annoying me today...

the price hike up for air flights over the holidays

pride and territorialism

the fact that it's not yet the weekend

it's been raining for 36 hours straight

if you can't tell...i'm having trouble focusing. and that's probably the most annoying thing of all.

rain rain go away...

well, last week i had the realization that, due to a special event last monday, i wasn't working 14 days straight...i was actually working 19 days straight.

oi vey

i was doing pretty well until thursday, and then as I like to say, i didn't just hit the wall, i slammed into it head first.

needless to say, having a relaxing weekend was my number one priority. it's been raining and miserably cold for the last 4 days, so i wasn't really planning on doing anything besides lounging on my couch. then my friend adri called with the great idea of going to play mud football on saturday morning. how could i not?

there only ended up being 4 of us, so not enough to really play. but we still did have a lot of fun. thanks for the idea adri! and for the pics!
